The full-scale war unleashed by Russia has now lasted a year
The Mieroszewski Centre has been speaking out in a strong voice against Russian aggression against Ukraine since 2014, and this voice has become even louder on 24 February 2022.
Over the past 12 months, we do not forget or move past the ruthless and brutal aggression.
We are sustaining efforts for Polish-Ukrainian dialogue and listening to the voices of our friendly eastern neighbours.
- We are implementing a scientific project '24.02.2022, 5.00 a.m. Witnesses of war', which aims to record testimonies documenting the experience of Ukrainian citizens affected by the war.
- We published a book "Війна 2022: щоденники, есеї, поезія", containing works by Ukrainian male and female authors written after 24 February, the Polish translation of which will soon premiere.
- We organised REPOWER training aimed at Ukrainian women who want to find their way on the Polish labour market after emigrating.
- We invited Ukrainian journalists and women journalists to Warsaw to tell what it is like to fight with a pen on the frontline.
- We published an opinion poll report 'Poland and Poles through the eyes of Ukrainians'.
- And these are just some of the activities we have undertaken over the past year. We will support Ukraine for as long as it takes, we are and will continue to be in solidarity with Ukraine.
