Social resilience workshop: Stay Alert. Stay Secure. Stay Resilient.
Hybrid warfare, disinformation, and activities targeting information security are becoming some of the most significant challenges facing public institutions and local communities today. How can we identify threats, build resilience, and respond effectively to attempts at manipulation?
The Mieroszewski Centre has joined the group of partners of the an educational programme dedicated to strengthening civic competencies and enhancing societal resilience in the face of today’s security challenges. One of the programme’s key initiatives is the workshop “Stay Alert. Stay Secure. Stay Resilient.”

During the workshop, experts in security, international affairs and strategic communication will discuss information threats, the experiences of countries that have successfully strengthened societal resilience, and practical approaches to countering disinformation.
The workshop will take place on 22 June 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Villa Decius in Kraków. The programme includes:
- Wojciech Konończuk (Centre for Eastern Studies) – “Close to home and part of everyday life: hybrid warfare is already underway”;
- Agnieszka Lichnerowicz (journalist and reporter) – “Between Finland and Ukraine: lessons, inspirations and insights on resilience from other countries’ experiences”;
- Ernest Wyciszkiewicz (Mieroszewski Centre) – “From reaction to reflection: how to build information resilience in Polish-Ukrainian relations”;
- Colonel Andrzej ‘Wodzu’ Kruczyński – “People, teamwork and the will to fight”;
- Dominika Kasprowicz (Director of the Villa Decius Institute of Culture, Professor at the Jagiellonian University) – “Disinformation as a threat to the information environment of local governments: prevention and crisis management”;
- Katarzyna Nowak – “Building societal resilience to threats related to the activities of foreign intelligence services”.
For the Mieroszewski Centre, participation in this event forms part of our broader efforts to strengthen information resilience and deepen understanding of security challenges in Central and Eastern Europe. At a time of intensifying disinformation campaigns, the ability to critically assess information and recognise manipulation is becoming one of the foundations of democratic resilience and security.
