Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026
The Mieroszewski Centre will participate in the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 (URC 2026), which will take place in Gdańsk on 25–26 June. Co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine, URC is the leading international forum dedicated to Ukraine’s recovery and modernisation.
This year’s conference will bring together representatives of governments, international institutions, businesses, local authorities, and civil society organizations to develop solutions supporting Ukraine’s reconstruction and long-term development.
One of the conference’s integral side events will be the Think Tank Forum – a platform bringing together experts and research institutions from Poland, Ukraine, and other countries to provide evidence-based analyses and recommendations on Ukraine’s recovery and the future of the region. The Forum is designed as a space for strategic dialogue and exchange among think tanks working on security, reforms, societal resilience, and European integration.
In cooperation with its Ukrainian partners, the Mieroszewski Centre is organising two panel discussions as part of the Think Tank Forum.
On 25 June (13:45–15:00), the panel “Russia's Cognitive War Against the West: Consequences for Ukraine and Its Allies” will examine Russia’s information warfare against the West and its implications for Ukraine and its allies. The discussion will focus on countering disinformation, strengthening the resilience of democratic societies, and the role of journalism and the media in times of information warfare.
The speakers will include:
- Michał Szułdrzyński – Editor-in-Chief of Rzeczpospolita,
- Nataliya Gumenyuk – CEO of the Public Interest Journalism Lab,
- Jaroslava Barbieri – Research Fellow at Chatham House,
- Baiba Braže – Minister for Foreign Affairs of Latvia.
The panel will be moderated by Magdalena Rigamonti, journalist at Onet.pl.
On 26 June (10:15–11:30), the Mieroszewski Centre will host the panel “Public Legitimacy / Adaptable Government in Wartime: How Reforms Become a Weapon.” The discussion will explore the resilience of democratic states during wartime, the importance of reforms implemented under pressure, and the role of public trust and effective communication in sustaining long-term support for Ukraine.
The panelists will include:
- Łukasz Adamski – Director of the Mieroszewski Centre,
- Serhii Boiev – Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine,
- Oleksii Dorohan – CEO of BRDO (Better Regulation Delivery Office),
- Julia Soldatiuk-Westerveld – Senior Research Fellow at the Clingendael Institute.
The discussion will be moderated by Ernest Wyciszkiewicz, the Mieroszewski Centre.
The Mieroszewski Centre’s participation in URC 2026 continues its efforts to foster expert debate on security, societal resilience, and the future of Europe in the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression.
