The Treaty of Riga in Poland enjoyed (and still enjoys) the opinion of a missed opportunity agreement. Is it true though? Was there more to gain?

"Forgotten peace" – it is the right way to define the fate of the Treaty of Riga after 90 years since it was signed. Peace in Riga on March 18, 1921 – ended the war between Poland and the Soviet republics: Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. In the world historiography, it has never raised major disputes, such as the Treaty of Versailles. Though, as a treaty that put an end to the conflicts in Eastern Europe lasting since August 1914, it is too easily forgotten.

The book’s aim is to introduce readers to the debate on the Treaty of Riga and the latest findings regarding the Polish-Bolshevik war and its consequences. This volume not only presents Polish and Russian contemporary views on these events but also includes studies of Belarusian, Ukrainian and Latvian researchers. The editor's intention was to provide the reader with a representative selection of current interpretations based on the latest historical research.
