From October to June 2026, translation workshops for beginner literary translators working from Belarusian into Polish will take place.
The Polish-Belarusian School of Translation “Words for Words” has officially begun. The programme has brought together participants interested in literary translation who, under the guidance of experienced translators, editors, and experts, are working with contemporary texts of Belarusian literature.
During the workshops, participants develop their translation skills, learn to work with literary language, and face the challenges of translating style, rhythm, and meaning. The School combines practical translation work with reflection on the role of literature in cultural dialogue and the presence of Belarusian authors in the Polish literary space.
The outcome of the School’s work will be an anthology of translations prepared by the program’s participants.
