Book premiere "War 2022"
"War 2022: Essays, Poems, Journals" is a book that moves to the depths. The texts of more than 40 prominent Ukrainian writers, including Serhiy Zhadan, Yuriy Andrukhovych, Kateryna Babkina, Andriy Lubka, allow us to see the world from a different perspective. They are full of beauty, but also pain and sadness. This is a must-read for all those who agree with the statement that freedom is a value worth fighting for, to be cherished and protected.
We invited you to the premiere of a new publication by the Mieroszewski Centre and Nova Polshcha, "War 2022: Essays, Poems", Journals', during which there was an opportunity to hear excerpts from the book interpreted by Krystyna Janda and Rymma Ziubina.
The words in the book that are of the greatest value. They are the ones that allow us to better understand contemporary Ukrainian culture - rich and diverse. But also to better understand Ukrainian values, way of thinking and, above all, our neighbours - Ukrainians and Ukrainian women. The texts included in the publication are a source of inspiration - they tell stories of freedom, sacrifice, love and hope. They show how to fight for what is most important.
During the premiere, you coulc listen to Oleksandr Irvanec and Halyna Kruk, whose works are included in the anthology, as well as one of the translators, the outstanding Polish poet Jacek Podsiadlo. The discussion was moderated by Zhenia Klimakin, editor-in-chief of Novaya Polshcha and author of the concept of "War 2022".
