The average real wage in Russia increased by 17% in April 2024 compared to the previous year.

Both Russian wages and the lowest national wage have changed during the war. Although Russians may enjoy higher amounts in their wallets, the reality is more complicated, as inflation in Russia, officially estimated at 9%, can actually be as high as 21%. While the household may appear more affluent, price increases eat into profits. Is Russia's current economic situation and war paying off for its citizens, or does it only serve to strengthen the regime?
