Thinking Wisely is a summer school of political expertise organized by the Mieroszewski Centre. Its aim is to develop analytical and critical thinking skills among young people interested in politics, international relations, law, and history.
It is a space for intensive learning and exchange of ideas – with the participation of experts from various fields, simulation games, workshops, and discussions that prepare participants to work in think tanks, media, public institutions, or academia.
We welcome students, PhD candidates, young researchers, journalists, and professionals or scholars working in the fields of international politics, law, and history.

Yes. The school is conducted in English, so fluency is required.
The school takes place in West Ukraine, in a location carefully chosen to be far from the war zone. The exact venue will be shared with selected participants after the recruitment process is completed. The school runs from July 13 to 19, 2025.
No. Participation in the programme is free of charge. The organisers provide accommodation, meals, a substantial programme and, in addition, transport costs of up to EUR 300 are reimbursed.
The program combines lectures, workshops, simulations, group work, and integrative activities. Topics include:
- Cognitive biases in analysis
- Communication with media and decision-makers
- Research methodology in political science
- International law as a tool for analysis
- Simulation game “State Economy”
- Quizzes, film screenings, and group excursions
The school brings together experienced experts and practitioners from diplomacy, international law, history, political science, and media. They combine academic knowledge with hands-on experience in public and analytical work.
Lecturers in 2025 include:
- Łukasz Adamski – historian, deputy director of the Mieroszewski Centre, expert on memory politics and the history of Eastern Europe,
- Ireneusz Kamiński – lawyer and professor of legal sciences, specialist in international law,
- Daniel Szeligowski – analyst of foreign and economic policy at the Polish Institute of International Affairs, expert on Eastern Europe,
- Olga Worożbyt – journalist and political commentator, expert in public communication.
After submitting the application form, candidates go through a substantive evaluation. Selection is based on research interests, motivation, and the relevance of the applicant’s profile to the school’s focus. Recruitment takes place online and follows this timeline:
- Application period: April 16 – May 14
- Evaluation of applications: May 15 – May 27
- Announcement of results: May 28
The list of selected participants will be announced on May 28, 2025.
Yes, all participants will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the programme.
