Thinking Wisely – School of Political Expertise

Thinking Wisely is a free, intensive summer school of political expertise organised by the Mieroszewski Centre, dedicated to professional political analysis.

The programme is designed for individuals who do not want to merely comment on reality, but to approach it in a critical and methodologically aware way.

It offers an intensive learning environment in which young researchers, students, PhD candidates, journalists, and analysts develop a professional toolkit — learning how to design research, formulate hypotheses, and draw conclusions based on clearly defined assumptions.

During the school, participants identify cognitive biases, develop evidence-based policy recommendations, and strengthen their ability to communicate findings to decision-makers and the media. The programme is simulation-based and led by experienced practitioners.

Thinking Wisely combines academic knowledge with the practical experience of professionals working in diplomacy, strategic analysis, and media.

The school will take place in Ukraine from 28 June to 4 July 2026. The exact location is selected with safety considerations in mind and is situated away from active war zones.

The programme is conducted in English; therefore, a good command of the language is required.

Do you have a question?

The aim of the ‘Thinking Wisely’ summer school is to combine theoretical knowledge with practical workshops that develop skills in critical thinking, analytical writing and logical argumentation. The programme is designed for young leaders, researchers and experts who want to gain a solid foundation for their work in international politics, state-to-state relations and analysing current global events.

Interactive learning with experts

Participants have the chance to work with leading experts in the fields of international relations, politics and international law. Classes are conducted in the form of interactive workshops, where theory is combined with practice. Students can apply the knowledge they have gained to practical tasks such as case analysis, and learn how to produce reliable and objective policy reports.

Enriching cultural and academic experience

The ‘Thinking Wisely’ international summer school is also an opportunity for academic development and exchange with participants from different countries. The programme includes intensive discussion sessions where you can share your research and ideas and receive valuable feedback from experts and other participants. Participants may also have the opportunity to obtain a certificate of completion from the summer school to highlight their acquired knowledge and skills.

Location and safety

The ‘Thinking Wisely’ school takes place in a picturesque location, which is conducive to intensive learning and exchange of ideas in a peaceful, inspiring environment. We also ensure the full safety of the participants by choosing locations away from conflict zones, which allows for a calm atmosphere conducive to academic work and the integration of participants.

We invite those who wish to explore international relations, develop their research skills and participate in academic life at the highest level to attend
