The Mieroszewski Centre Research Scholarship was created for scholars who strive for excellence in their work, share knowledge and seek to enhance cooperation across Central and Eastern Europe. The programme provides not only financial support but also access to resources that form the foundation of academic research.
For four months, Poland – and Warsaw in particular – becomes a hub of exchange and collaboration for young researchers from various countries. It is a space where scholarship meets dialogue and mutual inspiration.
Participants will also take part in two special shared moments. During the inaugural meeting in Warsaw, fellows get to know the mission of the Centre, take part in integration workshops and meet with experts and former participants of the programme – it’s a time full of inspiration, new ideas and energy for action. The closing meeting, in turn, is an opportunity to present research results, exchange experiences and plan the next steps for future collaboration.
In many countries of Eastern Europe, conducting research in the humanities and social sciences requires courage, determination and passion. Limited funding, restricted access to sources and obstacles to international cooperation often drive young scholars to seek an environment where they can pursue their work in peace.
The programme not only supports individuals but also builds a scientific community – a network of researchers who collaborate, inspire one another and enhance the international visibility of studies on the region.
Participation in the programme offers an opportunity for intellectual growth, a new perspective and tangible research outcomes – publications, collaborations, projects and lasting academic relationships.
