Crime and Punishment
Responsibility for violations of the law of war was the theme of the Mieroszewski Centre Summer School in 2022.
Participants from Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Lithuania, as well as the UK and Canada discussed, among other things, how to prosecute state leaders for war crimes, international criminal law and the role of the International Criminal Court. The week of lectures, seminars and workshops also addressed war crimes in the eyes of historians and Russia's policy of denial and violations of international law.
School programme took into account the research interests of the participants. The papers prepared were vigorously discussed during the classes.
