Piața europeană – Moldova closer to European Union
What connects Moldovan readers, Polish experts, and Europe’s future? The Mieroszewski Centre, in cooperation with Moldovan editorial offices, including Newsmaker.md, Lisa.md and Laf.md, is launching the ‘Piața europeană’ project, a series of articles presenting the realities of the European Union and the place Moldova could occupy within it.
Why is this important?
Moldova’s path to the EU is not only about diplomatic negotiations. It is also a conversation about what everyday life looks like in EU member states, the challenges that integration poses, and the opportunities it creates. In a world where disinformation is easy to encounter, the project offers reliable, engagingly presented information – prepared by journalists and experts who know the topic inside out.
How does it work?
In the coming weeks, articles in Russian and Romanian will be published on Moldovan news portals that will:
- show how the EU protects the rights of national and linguistic minorities,
- describe how border cities and regions have changed after joining the Schengen area,
- explain who really governs the EU and how decisions are made,
- discuss how farmers’ lives have changed after accession,
- present how the EU addresses historical disputes between member states.
Why in cooperation with the media?
Only local newsrooms know how to best reach their audiences. Moldovan editorial teams will not only publish the articles but also prepare social media content to encourage dialogue and the exchange of opinions.
Piața europeană is an invitation to open dialogue about a shared European future. Access to reliable information and the experiences of other countries is essential for Moldova to consciously chart its path towards the European Union.
Below we present articles prepared as part of the project.
