"Romashka" directed by Michał Szcześniak

History of the highest building in Chisinau and its residents.

The documentary presents the story of the tallest residential building in Chișinău, known as Romashka. This 22-story tower, constructed between 1978 and 1986, initially served as a dormitory, offering residents shared spaces such as laundries, kitchens, and a gymnasium. Over time, following the collapse of the Soviet Union, the building was transformed into a residential block, and its technical condition deteriorated. Currently, many floors stand empty, although some are still inhabited.

The final episode of the "Moldova. Renewal" series showcases the daily lives of Romashka's residents, their struggles with challenging living conditions, and their attempts to adapt to the changing reality.

The film was produced as part of the project “Moldova. Renewal.”
