The Mieroszewski Centre's ‘Words on Words’ translation school focuses on practice - participants have the opportunity to translate texts by prominent Georgian authors and authors.
The lecturers are experienced translators and linguists with excellent knowledge of Polish and Georgian. The school's programme has been carefully tailored to the needs of the participants - from the basics of translation and translation techniques, through analysing and comparing the linguistic structure of Polish and Georgian, recognising cultural subtleties in the source and target texts, to the practical aspects of translator's work and understanding cultural differences in the context of translation. At the Mieroszewski Centre, we place particular emphasis on practical skills.
