Memory and money. CIS countries summit in Moscow

On 8 October, Moscow hosted a summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which brings together the countries that emerged after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

The event was attended by leaders of the CIS countries, including representatives from Central Asia, the Caucasus and Belarus. In his speech, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the importance of economic and political cooperation within the CIS organisation, thanking the leaders for their joint efforts. An important highlight of the summit was a manifesto dedicated to the commemoration of the Second World War, which referred to shared historical experiences and values.
