I Disagree

‘I Disagree’ is a unique album by Bartłomiej Kiełbowicz, an artist who combines art with activism and treats it as a tool of social resistance.

For the past three years, Kiełbowicz has been documenting Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine through drawings. With reporter's precision, he not only reports on the events beyond our eastern border, but also subjects them to deep reflection. He draws posters, organises solidarity actions, participates in demonstrations - he creates committed art of moral concern. ‘I Disagree’ is a collection of drawings, but also a manifesto showing that art can be an effective tool in the fight for justice.

By publishing his work on social media, Kiełbowicz quickly gained a wide audience beyond the traditional art scene. His works were shared, commented on, turned into memes and used in protests. Over time, the artist became increasingly involved in social action - his drawings became posters, banners and symbols of street demonstrations.

One of his most famous actions was the creation of drawings depicting Putin behind prison bars and portraits of Volodymyr Zelensky, which became icons of the pro-Ukrainian protests in Warsaw. Kiełbowicz not only commented on reality, but also actively intervened in it, transforming art into a tool of civil resistance.

The album 'I Disagree' is not only a collection of prints, but also a visual manifesto documenting the most important artistic interventions related to the war in Ukraine. It is a testimony to our times and an appeal for indifference.

The publication is evidence of Kiełbowicz's artistic maturation and shows how art can become an effective tool of resistance and a commentary on contemporary events. Each of the works included in the album is a voice of opposition to violence and injustice and an appeal for solidarity. As the artist himself notes: ‘This question - have we done enough? - I address it not only to others, but above all to myself. In difficult times, art cannot be indifferent. It must react, inspire and provoke action.’
