Public opinion research

The Mieroszewski Centre runs a programme of public opinion research in Poland and Eastern European countries.

In the first instance, research was conducted in Ukraine. Which European nation is closest to the Ukrainians? How many Ukrainians speak Polish? What do they think further Polish-Ukrainian cooperation should look like? Are they interested in Polish culture and is it easily accessible in Ukraine? The reports, commissioned by the Mieroszewski Centre, answer these and many other questions.

The results of the research are enriched with comments and interpretations by experts, providing one important source of knowledge about public sentiment.

The research programme is designed to:

  • provide reliable and accurate data on mutual perceptions of Poles and Eastern European nations,
  • going beyond the common and superficial approach to the topic,
  • enable monitoring of changes in public mood.
