How to defeat Russia on the battlefield and diplomatic front?

Where: Kijów

Another study visit of the Mieroszewski Centre for experts from Poland, USA and Australia took place in Kyiv!

The highlight of our arrival in Kyiv was a discussion at Kyiv Taras Shevchenko University. There, we hosted experts who discussed during a debate entitled. 'How to defeat Russia on the battlefield and diplomatic front'.

The panellists of the discussion:

Mick Ryan, Retired Australian Army General,

Seth Jones, Vice-President of the Center for Strategic and International Studies,

Eliot Cohen, Arleigh A. Burke Chair in Strategy CSIS,

Sławomir Dębski, Director of the Polish Institute of International Affairs,

Rajmund Andrzejczak, Former Chief of General Staff of the Polish Army,

Łukasz Adamski, Vice-Director of the Mieroszewski Centre.

The discussion focused on key aspects of the conflict - Western military support and various diplomatic strategies. Speakers emphasised the importance of Ukraine's moral, human and intellectual strength in the conflict, calling for the documentation of war crimes as a key tool against the aggressor.

Experts agreed that the current war with Russia has gone on too long. Furthermore, according to them, the war is global - with Chinese and Iranian components, it is no longer about Russia alone. The guests also underlined that Ukraine must win in order to remain free and democratic and to develop in line with its Western vision. The two most important areas of the war with Russia - which experts say undoubtedly need to be worked on - are the frontline and the information space.

The study visit of global experts not only raised awareness of important issues related to the conflict, but also highlighted Ukraine's role in defending democratic and freedom values.
